Who we are

For over twenty years Camp Kimama has been curating programming for kids and teens around the world. With our homebase on the sunny shores of Israel, Kimama draws from traditional American summer camp values fused with the fresh outlook of Israeli culture and character.

In 2022, Kimama landed at Camp Halfmoon to merge their 100 year long tradition and combine it with our fresh perspectives for gen Z, Alpha and future generations to come.

Our staff is a symphony of languages and nationalities. Campers and counselors alike are encouraged to celebrate what makes them unique. At Halfmoon, every single camper is seen and cheered on with individual attention cultivating a strong sense of importance, connection, and belonging.

About

Camp Halfmoon is Camp Kimama’s home in the Berkshires! A summer camp established in 1922, Halfmoon has been creating summer memories for over a lifetime. For kids ages 7 - 17 coming from across the globe!

Our philosophy & values

Our beliefs lie first and foremost in the power of summer camp and giving kids what we know to be the most important experience of their lives. At Kimama Halfmoon we see being a part of children’s lives as an honor, and believe that we are not just an integral part of raising our campers, but in building their foundation and providing the tools to be tomorrow's leaders.

In having the privilege to open a summer camp anew in 2022, we are tasked with reimagining what the campers of today really need out of their camp experience. And we believe it starts with recognizing the individual, giving them the opportunity to reinvent themselves in new social contexts, to dare to try things they’ve never tried before in a screenless environment, and to allow them to be fully present through it all.

While Kimama Halfmoon’s traditions are based in Israeli culture and Judaism, our camps are open to people of all faiths, cultures, and orientations.

Our history

Camp Halfmoon was founded in 1922 and for years was known as “The Best Little Summer Camp in the Berkshires”. Small by design, summer after summer, it was the place where campers could return to where they were truly family. One hundred years later, Camp Kimama found their US homebase at Camp Kimama  Halfmoon and are proud to bring with them the spirit of Israeli culture, innovation, and renewal, today and into the future.
