Kimama-Halfmoon is an Israeli summer camp in the United States, located on a beautiful lake in the Berkshires. We are a community of campers and staff from around the world. We use an innovative approach to camping that creates lifelong memories and friendships.

Through the valleys and winding roads, Kimama Halfmoon can be found nestled right on Lake Buel in beautiful Monterey, Massachusetts. Halfmoon is perfectly located and feels like a remote, peaceful upstate getaway. Camp Halfmoon is proudly Camp Kimama’s home in the Berkshires.

Our olympic size pool is a camp favorite, where campers can swim, play, and socialize. Each camper must pass a comprehensive swim test, and a lifeguard is always present, but that goes without saying!
LAKE
Located on Lake Buel, at Kimama Halfmoon the lake and its backdrop serve as a huge part of everyday camp life. Via our private dock, campers can, wakeboard, tube, kayak, SUP, and so much more. Our dining hall overlooks the waters, and dinner often comes with the greatest show in town, the most stunning sunsets in the Northeast.
HEALTH CENTER
With health and wellness as a top priority at camp, our cozy and fully equipped health center is staffed by a nurse that sleeps on site, and is available 24/7 to our camper’s needs.
BUNKS
Our bunks serve as our camper’s home for their time at camp which is why it is so important for us to ensure that they are clean, orderly, and comfortable. We encourage our campers to fully unpack when they arrive, so that they can settle in. Bunks vary in size and are divided into boys and girls, with a designated counselor.
The Kimama Halfmoon facility is packed with several locations to play a wide range of sports. The sports field houses one of two basketball courts, a volleyball court, a batting cage, rolling green fields for soccer, softball, baseball, and so much more!
SPORTS FIELD
DINING HALL
One of our favorites, our dining hall is a homage to 100 years of camp life, with plaques dating back to the camp's establishment decorating the hall’s walls. With a kosher state of the art kitchen, we make sure that the space that campers visit three times a day is clean, comfortable, and caters to every dietary restriction. During meal time, one can hear the buzz of chatter, cheers, and music.
SKATE PARK
Slip on those vans and grab a board. Our mini skate park has all the ramps you need to show us what you have!
HIGH ROPES COURSE
Get closer to nature by touching the tree-tops in our high ropes course. Our high ropes facility has all of the most up to date equipment and at least three professionals to guide and monitor every step.
POTTERY BARN
There is nothing like getting your hands into some clay. Our pottery barn facility has all of the tools and materials needed, with an on site kiln to turn campers’ creations into a real work of art.
ARTS & CRAFTS
It’s all about expressing yourself! Our art room is jam packed with supplies with an art program emphasizing recycled art and sustainable creation. Campers are encouraged to open their minds and challenge themselves to explore materials and see things differently!

Balance beams and trampolines, our fully equipped gymnastics studio has everything you need to practice your summersaults, cartwheels and everything in between!
THEATER
The creeks of the wooden stage, the curtains that open to reveal our very creations! Our theater is a building that carries with it so much tradition of imaginations, skits, song and dance.
BONFIRE
Sitting around a campfire is inevitably a huge part of camp life, not to mention a tradition at Kimama Halfmoon. With two cozy campfire set ups, whether a group is looking for an intimate smores bake or a space for our weekly camp-wide bonfire, we make it happen.
EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER
It is our belief that every age group needs something a little different, and that is why, for pioneers and tigers amongst us, we opened an early childhood center equipped with everything our youngest need to feel safe and at home.

Program & Schedule
At Kimama Halfmoon, campers will experience a unique English and Hebrew-speaking summer camp, surrounded by magical lakeside scenery, just two hours from Manhattan!
Kimama Halfmoon is proud to offer a diversified program in sports, arts and enrichment areas. It is our goal to involve campers in a variety of activities, therefore activities are chosen by each camper on a weekly basis.
Our staff
Our staff are inherently the core of what makes Halfmoon so special. College age or older, certified and accredited in their respective areas of expertise, and coming from every edge of the globe! Many of Halfmoon’s counselors were once upon a time campers, instilling the roots of family and tradition in every waking (or sleeping) moment! Halfmoon maintains a camper to staff ratio of 5 to 1.
